PROJECTS PHOTOGRAPHED BY ASHLEY BARBER

Positioned at the base of Darling Harbours' Imax cinema complex, Wockpool is driven by Neil Perry's reputation as top class chef.
It has been designed using the "Charlie Chan goes glamorous" notion.
By dividing the restaurant into mini "dining rooms" the space provides an experience which is pretty rare in the restaurant game.
The staff in the mini rooms are no longer cogs in a machine, but hosts for a small gathering of diners.
The raw concrete oyster bar anchors the restaurant, with the Glasshouse dining area thrust into the pedestrain traffic of Darling Harbour.
Inside the noodle bar squeezes between a curving red banquette and a dispense bar illuminated with white perspex and stainless steel. A glistening curtain follows the banquette and focuses the space on the glimpsed chink of view. The curtain continues its meanderings toeventually encircle the restaurant.
