Architect Statement
Waruda Street is an indulgent two-bedroom bachelor pad directly opposite the Sydney Opera House in Kirribilli. It is about enjoying the moment, beautiful furniture, cocktails and views.
The environment is finely detailed throughout using a palette of natural materials such as timber, marble and leather. The latest technology is designed into these spaces, featuring a retractable TV and surround sound.
The apartment is contained within an older refurbished building directly on the water. Ferries, yachts and speedboats constantly pass by.
The city and harbour bridge are right there. Although on the water, it is a highly urban location with an element of glamour. The renovation reflects this energy and sophistication to justify its location.
The result is a luxurious example of modern urbanism. Given the spectacular views, the design compliments the outlook by providing a decadent cocoon in which the owner can work, contemplate and play.
