This Private residence is located on an exposed corner site. The building is designed to act as a bookend to the remaining houses on its block and is designed as a single object. With a visible side of 30m in length and a slope on the side (to accommodate a basement garage) its exposure to the street is quite open. The design seeks to create a private, enclosed shelter for the occupants.
The solidity of the building is enhanced with the use of bluestone cladding. These diamond sawn bluestone panels are used to fully clad the building. These panels are of a varying thickness and width. This variation of the panels creates a subtle texture in the building, which will patina to give the building a timeless quality.
