As Santos obtained naming rights to this landmark building Carr Design Group's commission included the installation of skysigns and street signage.
Occupying the top three floors of Adelaide's tallest building, Levels 28 and 29 are new fitouts with minor refurbishment to Level 30. Santos reused workstations left by the former tenant. CARR Design Group assessed the existing assets and balanced the benefit of reuse without compromising the design concept for the long term functionality of the tenancy. The design concept responds to the uninterrupted views of the city and its environs, with all enclosed offices and support spaces located internally and open work areas to the perimeter. Extensive use of glass to office fronts and workstation screens ensures an egalitarian distribution of the sweeping views.
The planning approach maximises the unusual triangular building footprint, whilst maintaining a modular workstation / office layout to allow flexibility for future change. Office areas are separated into three sections around the triangular core with each apex housing utilities, quiet task harbours and informal meeting areas. This layout not only utilises these triangular nodal points, but also creates vistas to allow orientation by external landmarks.
The tenancy accommodates a range of facilities, from the latest concepts in general office design to more traditional corporate function facilities, a new reception area, video conferencing, and audiovisual installations.
Following successful completion of this tenancy, Santos appointed CARR Design Group as designers for their Business Units tenancy which now occupy levels 3 to 11 in the same building.
