Although tightly constrained by its neighbours, each level of the project responds uniquely to the dynamic views of the bay, expanding one's sense of site.
The building is crisply detailed and evokes a nautical feel in keeping with its waterside location
Parking, the entry and main living areas occupy the upper levels with bedrooms and recreation areas occuring on the lower levels, finally culminating in a wet-edge pool and waterfront facilities.
The stair down from the street level and the circular skylight shift the geometry of the street to the axial circulation of the house
Although the building is substanitally below street level and set into the hillside there is a great sense of lightness throughout.
Two rectangular pebbled planes support clrestorey windows beneath a curved copper roof. This element gives a hint of the axial circulation that begins at the main entry, continuing down to the main living level, where the full view of the bay is experienced.
This house responds to its idyllic location in a precise manner, inspiring the senses on every level.
