The tranquil palm trees views of Sydney harbour from this aprtment belie the bustling street life at the entrance to this heritage-listed art deco building in Sydneys Maclaey Street, Potts Point.
The small 1 bedroom apartment needed very little basic revamping beyond painting the walls white and and adding glass panels and lighting.
In the kitchen, stainless steel shelving and glass cupboard doors were insatlled and a wall of the dining area was mirrored to extend the sense of space and reflect the harbour views.
The golden oak parquetry floors were stripped back and stained a dark chocolate, thereby tieing back to the mangowood colour scheme.
Due to the heritage-listing of the apartment , no extra ceiling lighting could be added, so a variety of contemporary and 1960's table anf floor lamps were used to create a warm, boudoir feeling at night.
It is a n ambience of subdued luxury that suits the owner.
