Munich Re House

The building floor plate is relatively small with natural aspect and light at only two ends. The challenge was to create an interactive work environment for the company that opened the floor plate out to the views and light. The Munich office in Melbourne designed prior to Sydney, served as a prototype for the larger project in Sydney.

Offices and small meeting rooms were placed internally and the lift lobby zones on each floor adopted a "garden" theme with the use of screens, colour and plants. These areas become the community thoroughfare with lounge and tea points. An internal stair was inserted to connect all floors and promote vertical communication.

The client has a commitment to art and landscape in their buildings and both were integrated into their Sydney offices. A panelled installation for the full length of the southern wall on each floor varies with the use of a highlight colour
