In 2000, Marshall and his artistic wife Liane Rossler - a director of the globally successful homewares and jewellery firm Dinosaur Designs - bought this 1930s suburban bungalow because it was on a large site, with a rectangular swimming pool, and its lack of architectural merit minimised the chance of heritage complaints about their planned alterations.
