The verticality of the landscape is reflected in this house.
The house was built in a traditional way - using supporting brick walls whitewashed on the exterior.
It is divided into 2 tower-like buildings (1 for sleeping - 1 for living) connected by a glass covered entrance area. The division of the building allows for an imaginative articulation over the steep and rugged site.
The house has an informal dynamic spatial sequence and almost all rooms are linked to one another in an open-plan fashion.
The orientation of the house, together with the use of a high skylight in the upper storey, floods the house with light. This together with the 2 storey glass wall in the living room , gives the house a great sense of transperancy.
