Glenelg in Adelaides south-west has always been a popular spot, but only in recent years has the area seen the introduction of high-rise residential buildings
This apartment building remains sympathetic tot he areas predominately undertstated development, presenting a suprisingly dleicate form that connects to the street and the ocean views.
The main priority was to maximise the stunning sea nad park views and utilise the 3 street frontages surrounding the site.
The clean minimal notes of the buildings exterior are carried though into its interiors, where white walls are seperated by stretches of floor to ceiling glass.
The apartment runs east-west and is book ended by balconies , with a third balcony enclosed with in the north facing facade. These outdoor spaces connect the apartment to its environment, but are sheltered enough to protect the occupants from extremes of climate.
Neutral colourings have been used thorughout thereby allowing the occupants to individualise the interiors with distinctive furniture.
Con has achieved a sophisticated, minimal look in a cost effective way, combining standard construction techniques with a limited palette of materials.
