PROJECTS IN BRISBANE

The refurbishment, managed by intero Hospitality projects and designed by Brand + Slater, includes flexible lounge, dance, live music and function areas: Indigo Lounge, Saffron Room, Mint Room and Velvet Lounge.

The stairwell leading to the upper level have also received treatment - artwork by local Brisbane artist Anthony Lister. The upstairs bar has had a minor revamp, as has the back of bar display, with a new neon lightbox bottle display. The Indigo Lounge and Room features chocolate upholstered seating plus copper-tinted mirrors and is lit with electric blue neon light strips to create a sleek interior experience. Bi-fold doors double/halve the room real estate. The balcony off these rooms has become the designated outdoor smoking area for the first floor.

Red neon lighting strips to the adjacent hail ceiling lead patrons down a central path to the other function areas. The first of these is the red lounge. Christened the Velvet Lounge, it's set in behind a fringe of red cord curtaining, offering patrons an opulent lounge experience.

The use of various tactile, curtained, upholstered and lit surfaces enwures each room has its own unique personality. All the upper level rooms feature custom designed carpets by Brintans Carpets, suitably toned for each space. The function areas can be separated easily for private functions, or alternatively are opened to the public for general use. Lighting throughout the refurbishment can be dimmed as required - day/night, relaxed/mental.

The refurbishment downstairs consists of new wallpaper and paint to the entire interior, as well as new feature lighting and lounge areas. With expanses of glass and open windows to the street on two sides the bar, new red-glowing bladed feature lighting over the main bar creates a focal point of interest for passers-by. The removal of the central bar display imbues the areas surrounding the bar with more of a visual connection to each other and als the street.

The lounge area between the dancefloor and the first floor stairwell entry was previously an under-utilised space and has now been redesigned to incorporate lush upholstered seating and loose furniture. A full height feature wall with glowing curved light panels was designed to highlight the modifications to the lounge, which also serves to emphasis the stairwell entry to the function areas on the first floor. New glittering chandeller-like pendants freshen and define the lounge areas, creating an intimate ambience.
