Beyond the facade of the terrace, situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, little remains of its Victorian incarnation.
A sleek monochrome house combined with the chaos of children can be achieved, throught the inclusion of abundant storage with loads of deep draws and cupboards to toss toys and other things.
Timber veneer and colourback glass units dominate the living and family rooms. Mirror panels in the cabinetry give the home a sense of space. Colourback glass and mirrors not only lighten the joinery, but help bring light deeper into the front room. It also serves to fracture the images pperceived by the viewer as they move around the house.
Removing most of the ground floor's internal walls (living room, dining room and kitchen) has also injected a sense of space and light. This was done by supporting everything in steel .
The doors to the courtyard, stck back to open the outdoor space to the rest of the house. They were designed to seamlessly step back so that the owners children could ride thier bicycles in and out without concern. At the end of the courtyard a large mirror cretas an illusion of space.
