This Victorian terrace house was given a new lease of life through the use of a long narrow outside space or slot that replaced an existing glass conservatory. The house was designed around the client’s extensive art collection and the art pieces become the focal point of the house. In the “slot” deck area a piece by Melbourne artist Robert Owen represents thought forms as they move up the wall. A multi-layered work by artist Janet Lawrence greets you adjacent the entry and a sculpture by Akio Makigawa sits coolly in the living area. The house reflects a fascination with the alchemical and the esoteric elements of life.Photographs by Vogue Living.
