Living spaces grouped at the front of the house are open and flow from one to the next, the kitchen and bbq bench spilling out onto the terrace, making the front garden an integral part of the experience of the house. A low level slot window in the more intimate dining space allows a glimpse over the garden and future lap pool. The dining room, lounge and playroom also face onto an eastern courtyard to enjoy the morning sun. Materials have been left as raw and uncovered as possible - the concrete floor slab has been simply polished, the massive stabilised earth walls left untouched, standard red bricks left unrendered, the kitchen splashback is clear glass to expose the limestone behind. A strong blade-like stabilized limestone wall divides the living and ancillary spaces of the house. Ancillary spaces such as carport, storeroom and laundry are sequential down the western side of the house. These areas are set down from the living areas, allowing afternoon sunlight to penetrate over through highlight windows into the kitchen and lounge. The rear of the house breaks away from the main body of the house through a split level staircase, the lower axis leading to the children's playroom and bedrooms, the upper to the study and master suite.
