PROJECTS IN MELBOURNE

CSC ( a global IT services company ) were looking to relocate a number of facilities into a single headquarters in Southbank.

The brief was to prototype a new generation of office environment that provided a platform for organisational change, which could then be tested and implemented in other regions.

The building selected was 'The Atrium', at 58 Queensbridge St Southbank, Melbourne, a sometimes awkward collection of several buildings unified by a 70's style façade.

Significant demolition retained little of the existing interiors only maintaining the central atrium location and the double void spaces to the perimeter.

Avoiding the temptation to follow the retro style of the remaining elements, this design inserts a more fluid spatial solution, allowing for seamless connections between varying levels and building junctions.
