PROJECTS IN SYDNEY

PROJECTS PHOTOGRAPHED BY ROSS HONEYSETT

Situated at the southern end of Barcom Avenue, Rushcutters Bay the building is located only minutes from Sydney's CBD and within easy walking distance of Oxford Street, Rushcutters Bay Park and the cafes and restaurants of Victoria Street.

The building offers a range of 26 one and two bedroom apartments with 7 different layouts, direct access to security parking and a retail space. The apartments typically overlook a landscaped courtyard and reflecting pond with a number offering private courtyard gardens at street level.

The building's design has been carefully considered in response to its site, Sydney's climate and the flexibility to incorporate the individual needs of its occupants.

Interiors are characterised by clean simple lines, generous ceiling heights, some apartments having double height living areas, and distinctive operable coloured panels running the entire length of the apartments.

These "working walls" contain kitchens, laundries, wardrobes and exceptional amounts of storage including a balcony storage area. Expressed externally these coloured working walls provide a rich contrast to the building's crisp white structure.

Bathrooms are typically expressed as free standing pods placed at the centre of each apartment They allow breezeways through to the bedrooms where the use of large sliding panels achieves flexibility between the need for privacy and the free flow of space. A number of these bedrooms in turn open onto private courtyards

Individual living areas in the main body of the building are angled to face north resulting in a serrated plan form, cantilevered above the lower courtyard apartments provides the building with its distinctive dynamic form. Large balconies and courtyards form an extension to the living spaces, with full height glass doors sliding away completely to achieve a total integration of interior and exterior space. This provides exceptional natural cross ventilation and alleviates the need for air conditioning.
