The BHP Steel Centre was designed to showcase the best of BHP Steel products within a modern, open and accessible work space.
In meeting the Australian content criteria for the fitout, suppliers used BHP Steel in the manufacture of their products wherever possible.
Whenever BHP Steel could not be used, design firm, Geyer, sourced only Australian-made materials.
Geyer incorporated the use of BHP Steel materials throughout the fitout, applying traditionally perceived exterior products to interior elements.
When entering the new interior, the BHP Steel brand is prominent. Galvanised Ornamesh panelling to lift lobby walls and BHP Steel signage makes a clear statement for visitors on arrival.
In the reception area and in the breakout space, recycled BHP Steel from the inside of wheat silos is used in joinery elements.
Mini-orb is used both outside the boardroom and in the creation of the 'water tank', a screen to a HR meeting space.
COLORBOND steel in 'off white' is used to clad joinery fronts in executive meeting spaces and reception.
Ornamesh is again used in screens to utility and storage areas.
