For their own home architects Astridge & Galvin, used materials such as steel, concrete, and glass left in their pure state, and with non-colour , expressive tools that have led to a well - balanced transformation of a long narrow industrial building.
The façade was was redesigned to express the solid and empty, opaque and transparent portions.
At ground level a large open space contains the kitchen / dining and living areas which open onto a small courtyard.
The upper level contains the bedrooms and bathroom.
The 2 levels are connected by an internal staircase-sculpture in steel reflecting the enthusiasm of the owners for the purist architecture of Louis Khan and its organic relationship to furnishing.
