As a sydney based designer of interiors and textiles - Donald has a feel for colour and interiors.
When Donald first inspected the apartment it was full of corinithian columns that werent even properly installed- and dust laden curtains obscuring the magnificent harbour views.
There were 2 elements of architecture which providfed promise for the apartments future redesign
1) north westerly aspect for mazximum sun exposure (for afternoon setting sun vistas)
2) presence of non-load bearing walls, allowing the internal spaces to be rearranged.
With the guidance of BKH, donald devised a plan to open out the internal walls and gave sense to the rooms and their linkings.
Mirrored walls at either end cleverly extended the space into infinity.
The interiors were achieved through restraint, avoiding sentimental detours into retro - eclectic but pared down.
