Armadale house
SEARCH
Making the most of a site that was narrow at the front and fanned out at the rear, Inarc devised a series of picturesque courtyards around which key living spaces were planned.
The house was designed with the following in mind - clutter reduced, lines pared back, colours muted and space enhanced - so as to let the owners and nature provide the dramatic effect.
The protective posture of its facade to the street melts away inside with soaring volumes, generous expanses of glass, and an internal plan that nurtures family interaction yet provides solitude and sanctuary.
The earthiness of pale stone, warm timber and chocolate leather finishes are matched by the lushly planted private courtyards onto which the main living areas look.
