PROJECTS PHOTOGRAPHED BY ASHLEY BARBER

Thankfully revivals are never purely repetitive.

Hip hippiedom is here, not in the form of regression but as sophisticated regeneration.

Iain Halliday of Burley Katon Halliday, moved into a terrace in Darlinghurst (1989).

The ensuing renovations paid homage to, and readdressed, the 70's aesthetic.

Halliday decided to ignore the introverted, standard format of the Voctorian terrace (2 small, boxy rooms on each of the 2 floors) and gutted both levels, created 2 elongated spaces.
