The development consists of a 33 level commecial office tower and four storey podium incorporating retail, offices, lobbies and entrances. Total GFA is 76,000m2.
The building is designed to reinforce the city's historic pattern of development and includes: a retail podium that fully integrates the surrounding heritage fabric (including the Strand Arcade and the corner buildings of Darrel Lea, Bally Shoes and Tag Heuer store). It also includes the rention of the former Sydney Arcade façade.
A commercial office tower that recognises the corporate importance of the George Street address, its alignment with King Street and a stepped form that protects solar access to the Pitt Street Mall.
The tower has been designed as a Tenant Friendly building incorporating maximum natural light, flexible large column free floor plates, internalised core configuration for greater planning efficiencies and secured access to service areas, large terraces for outdoor activity - which provide for a new workplace lifestyle.
The tower entrance off George Street is defined by the strong symmetrical modelling of the podium and dominant position of the tower above. The lobby is a dramatic linear space, connecting the three lift lobbies whilst providing an interactive business café/lounge as the 'social' focus. Significant artwork and sculpture was commissioned for this space.
The rooftop element is used to terminate the tower form, whilst amplifying the building's address and giving a unique signature to the city's skyline.
A curved, glass covered laneway, named Sydney Arcade connects the Pitt Street Mall to King Street, providing a new public street environment, which provides access to the unique fashion, multiple level retailing.
The tower façade is a composition of punched masonry granite with highly profiled glass curtain wall elements. The podium façade is predominantly sandstone, with a polished granite base with honed limestone up to the underside of the partially glazed awning
