INTRODUCTION
Born in London in 1953. He studied industrial design at Westminster and Middlesex Colleges and his previous industrial design work varied from oil platform to machine tools. In the mid 80's he spent two years at what is now the London Guildhall University. His present work consists mainly on furniture, lighting and product design.
He has been strongly influenced by a combination of travels in Asia and the Modernist Movement. As such, his designs follow pure and geometric form producing minimal compositions with decoration intrinsic to the work.
Companies for which he designs include Cappellini (Italy), Casas (Spain), Concord Lighting (England), Punt Mobles (Spain), SCP (England), Teunen (Germany) and Victoria Design (Switzerland).
He has won two major design awards, the British Design Award 1992 and the German Design Award "Die Besten der Besten" Design-Innovationen 1992. His work is exhibited in the collection of the Museum d'Art Decoratives, Barcelona and the review collection of the Design Museum in London.
In March of 1994 he set up a studio in Portugal were he now lives, works and paints.
