INTRODUCTION
The work of brothers Erwan and Ronan Bouroullec is informed by a thorough approach, resulting in pieces that are simple and intelligent, and designed in a sensitive and interrogative manner. Their designs are surprising with their obviousness and their functions. Pushed to the limit of their logic, objects remain what they are and at the same time propose various approaches and aesthetics. Their objects are mechanisms, formulas that fold into infinity, encompassing an amazing number of possible figures. This open-ended design has less to do with space itself than the relationship of the object to space, which remains free.
Erwan and Ronan work on a freelance basis.
Their objects and furniture design are being produced by Cappellini, Authentics, Roset, Neotu, Sommer, the Monnaie de Paris (French Mint), Ardi, Domeau & Perez, Evans, and Wong.
