INTRODUCTION
Born in Milan in 1954.
In 1979 he takes a degree in architecture.
Later he attends the School for Management Direction by the Bocconi University in Milan.
In 1979 he becomes part of the Cappellini spa taking care first of its image and later of its management.
Thre essenctial spirit of his managing is to work with young designers from all over the world.
Many Cappellini pieces are included in the permanent collections of the most important museums of contemporary art such as the MUSEUM OF MODERN ART in New York , the MUSEUM OF MODERN ART in San Francisco, the MUSEE DES ARTS DECORATIVES in Paris, the MUSEUM FUER ANGEWANDTE KUNST in Cologne, the VICTORIA AND ALBERT MUSEUM in London, the CENTRE GEORGE POMPIDOU in Paris, the GALLERIA D'ARTE MODERNA in Rome.
In 1987 he established a new company named "Mondo". For this business he looks for furniture and objects from all over Europe and Asia and they are proposed after a careful new reading.
In 1992 he created a new trade mark for Cappellini spa named "Progetto Oggetto" , a collection including objects both for home and office.
In 1996 he established the new firm "UNITS" for kitchen production.
His work have been published in different italian and foreign magazines.
He gives lessons at the Architectural Faculty of Milan, Domus Academy and at the European Institute of Design. He is also a visiting professor at Montreal and Valencia Universities.
Giulio Cappellini personally takes care of the image and the products of all the four business marks of Cappellini.
