INTRODUCTION
Born in Carimate (Italy) in 1967 and with a degree in architecture from Milan university, since 1993 Carlo Colombo has worked mainly in the design field and as a consultant to industry.
Top names for which he has worked include Cappellini, Flexform, Ycami Edizioni and Vittorio Bonacina.
In 1995 he worked on the restructuring of social buildings and private residence. He has held lessons on industrial packaging at Milan's Politecnico university. Here he is assistant to the Furnishing faculty and, as Italian member, has attended numerous industrial design conferences and meetings abroad (Israel, Portugal, and Greece). His most important works include the commissions for Poliform (1995), Varemma (1997), and for Units and Agape in 2000. His projects have been displayed in museums and at contemporary art and design exhibitions, i.e. his "Ligabue" table at "Design et miroir du siècle" in Paris (1993), the "Archimede" bed at the Im Neuen Museum Weserburg Bremen, and his "Zigozago" rug at the Cologne museum of applied arts.
