INTRODUCTION
Cappellini ( Italy ) started in 1964 as a producer of artisan made furniture, and since that time it has continued to develop, and has now consolidated into the Cappellini Company Project which has an overall vision in which each product, designer or strategy is the fruit of a global interpretation of living and the home, a synthesis of different languages and cultures, that are selected, matched and directed by Giulio Cappellini.
Cappellini is a versatile man who is at the same time producer, editor, director, talent scout and above all, entrepreneur.
Designers from all over the world nurture and keep the Project continuously updated. These designers are chosen not only for their designs, but also because they challenge themselves for the sake of the greater Company project. This thread connects to the idea of a strong and dynamic company, a family-workshop context where creativity and challenge are the fundamental values for each new work.
"The most prestigious Italian design company", as defined by the Financial Times, has products in the permanent collections of the most prestigious contemporary art museums in the world, from MOMA in New York to the Pompidou Centre in Paris, and in international design shows. These products are exhibited within these instituitions as examples of what is, avant-garde and experimental yet above all contemporary.
Giulio states "We prefer to stand with our feet firmly on the ground, but with our head among the stars" - Mies Van der Rohe
